To Configure WR-AR2317 router with the internet service providers like Virgin Media, NTL or any other ISP providing the internet services on the cable TV line follow the below steps,
1. Connect the PC to one of the LAN ports mark 1 to 4, or connect it wirelessly the router will assign an IP address to your PC like 192.168.1.101 2. Then plug one end of the Ethernet cable in the WAN port of the router and one end in the Ethernet port of the cable modem 3. You must not connect cable modem to your computer directly 4. Power off the router and the modem for one minute then first turn on the Modem after 10 seconds turn on the router 5. Access the web interface of the router (open your web browser like Internet Explorer, in the address box type 192.168.1.1), you’ll get login page enter the username and password, the default username is admin and the password is admin as well 6. Choose Operation Mode from the left panel and select AP Router, click Save button 7. Select Network, under Network click WAN, make sure Dynamic IP is selected as WAN Connection Type Now check the IP address under WAN, if there is a Public IP address then you are connected to the internet, open the web browser and type any website like http://pluscom.cn |
